corpses

i went to see Body Worlds on Sunday night. we got entrance tickets for 10:30. we parked in the neighborhood, so we didn't have to pay the $12 parking fee (cha-ching!).

there were about a million people inside the exhibit. the rest of the museum was closed, which was pretty cool, seeing everything all dark and empty. but we stood in line for about 30 minutes before we got in. and once we got in, it was full to maximum capacity.

now, usually i love corpses. but i guess i found it kind of creepy. all of those "people" were once real people. the hair, the nails, the teeth... they were once used in a human capacity. the individual organs were ok, because they were in cases and they didn't have eyes attached to them. i don't know what was so distubing about it all. and i've seen some fucked up shit in my anatomy books. but wow. to see someone's spine pulled away from their body, with the brain still attached and all of their internal organs exposed.... very surreal. i was kind of glad when it was over.
