disappointed
i am watching the VP debate. i just learned that Obama and Biden don't support same-sex marriage. why don't they come out and say that marriage between a black man and a white women (or visa versa) shouldn't be supported? i mean, come on. why can't see that this is just another hold-over from the religious right? that in another 10 years, we're going to look back on our fears and ask, "what was the big deal?"
by the way, Palin: it's "nu·cle·ar," not "nu·cu·ler." sheesh. you and the bush administration make a great pair.
and why is it so hard for them to answer a damn question? "what's more dangerous? a nuclear iran or an unstable Pakistan?" neither one of them answered that. "what promises did you make that you're not going to be able to fulfill?" also unanswered. what i loved the most is that palin wouldn't even answer a question so she could refute something that biden had said. she just can't get off the energy thing. oh, and what state are you from? alaska, you say? and you also say that there's oil in alaska? huh. i didn't know that.
and biden brings up a good point... how much different will mccain's policies be from bush's policies? SO TRUE!

IMHO...he really has to say he opposes it to get middle america to vote for him, and I don't mind that. Here's the important thing:
Obama says that he personally believes that "marriage is between a man and a woman" but also says that "equality is a moral imperative" for gay and lesbian Americans. He advocates the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) because "federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples, which is precisely what DOMA does." He supports granting civil unions for gay couples, and in 2006 he opposed a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. In March 2007, Obama initially avoided answering questions about a controversial statement by a U.S. general that "homosexual acts" are "immoral," but Obama later told CNN's Larry King, "I don't think that homosexuals are immoral any more than I think heterosexuals are immoral."
he may not personally believe in it, but he opposed an amendment to ban it. it's a fine line he must walk right now.
