stormy weather

this is what i was hoping to see...

i was awoken this morning at the shiny early time of 3:30am to a rather large clap of thunder. holy cow. of course, it could have just been my bladder, but it's usually not that loud. i got up and looked outside. damn the lack of light at 3am. you can't really see anything unless it's lit up by a huge bolt of lightning. no such luck. it's just dark out. i turn on the weather channel and use the loo. perfect timing, as the "local weather on the 8s" is coming on right then. some good activity, but nothing monumental. it thunders a few more times and i hit the sack again. i think, "i hope i'll be able to go back to sleeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz." yeah, the next thing i now, i was being awoken rudely by my horrible new alarm clock. it makes a terrible noise. much rather hear thunder, but all was pretty much quiet on the western front. some rumbles here an there, and rain. lots of rain. it's strange to turn off the shower and still hear water running. it stopped by the time i left. some people i know weren't so lucky. but then, they leave a lot earlier than i do.

another secret you might not know... i am a certified Storm Spotter. i have a certificate and everything. of course, the spring that i do this, we have almost NO RAIN AT ALL. f*ckin' drought.
