my latest project

in between freelancing, starbucks and pulling the cats apart, i have taken on a new project.

the roman shade.

our bedroom is in desperate need of window coverings (the cream-colored shades not doing the job of keeping mr. sun out), so i attempted to purchase said window coverings. keep in mind that our vintage bay window is 111" x 68", with three seperate windows. i bought a pair of green tabbed-topped curtains from target, not realizing that when they put the dimentions on the packaging, that isn't EACH CURTAIN, it's both curtains put together. so, when i unpacked the 68" x 48" curtains, they not only were too short (i'm not sure how), but they were waaaay not wide enough. bastards. and repacking those things to make it look like you weren't a complete dumbass who doesn't know how to measure is near impossible.

i looked elsewhere for curtains, but to no avail. they only got as wide as 48" and i ain't gonna buy three panels. that's just ridiculous! then i priced out roman shades online. har har. for the kind i wanted (ones that actually "shade" the bedroom, not some flimsy cheap cotton coverings) they run up to and including $119!!

then i had a brilliant plan: i'l make them! i have a sewing machine and a library card. nothing can stop me now!

except not having fusable web. so i'll get that tomorrow and then i'll be on my way! pretty soon i'll be able to sleep in until noon!! yay! oh, wait. is that a good thing?
