ok, so these are pictures that my sister took while we were visiting cemeteries in st. charles. we were at North Cemetery. they were taken within seconds of each other. there was no sun, and even if there had been, it was to her back, so those aren't sun flares. it was under a tree that beneath it the entire England family was laid to rest, but apart from the others was "william england," on the other side of the tree. and the tree was this strange shape-over 50 feet tall, but almost perfectly pear-shaped, with a little bulb on top. very odd. and. so. very. cool.

now, i know a lot of people don't believe in ghosts or the afterlife. i, on the other hand, am willing to believe in anything that makes other people uncomfortable. also, how f*cking cool is it that there could be spirits hanging around that we can't see? kristin was a little freaked, but i ran back to that tree and took a bunch of pictures, hoping that it would come back, but no dice.

what's so weird is that upon looking at them on her blog, scott noticed an outline of a tophat in the upper right corner. it almost looks like a man. william? we didn't feel any presence or cold breeze or anything. and just moments before, deer had been grazing on the lawn not but 100 yards away. i guess it's hard to believe that a spirit from another plane can make itself known on a camera, but that none of the people of flesh could feel it. as my sister pointed out, "not all spirits are bad spirits." kristin remained unconvinced. but my sister kept saying thank you to the unknown plasma that showed up on her finicky camera. and i was so amazed that i was lucky enough to be there when she captured it.

now if you'll excuse me, i have to do some research to see if anyone else has been so lucky at that cemetery.
