milk, my friend, my foe
i love milk. it's milky goodness is the best ice cold with a peanut butter sandwich and oreo cookies. now, a lot of compatriates disagree, saying milk is the is disgusting alone and that they can barely choke down cereal with it.
but milk has turned on me. it has made my insides turn into gassy, bloated timebombs of unpleasantness. and do you know what's made out of milk?
cheese.
sweet, sweet cheese.
specifically, pizza cheese.
i ate pizza on friday night with annette and scott. the next day was a nightmare. but sometimes the pain is worth it. from now on, i'll just have to be more choosy about what i suffer for. right now, i'm doing pretty well with no milk. i'm doing taste tests with rice and soy milk (and i didn't even know rice and soy plants had teats). the buzz kill is that rice and soy milk have more calories than skim milk. i managed to find a "lite soy" that has 70 calories per 8 oz. serving, but it tastes like old well water. so i dumped some hot cocoa powder in it (along with some bailey's) and it didn't taste too bad. i doubt i'll be downing a glass of it with chocolate chip cookies, but hey, i can't have it all.
