nine weird things
i found this in my "draft" pile on blogger and i thougth i'd finish it and post it. now you post your 9 weird things
i saw this on another person's blog. i'm picking 9 random things, since there are so many i can't possibly put them in any order.
1. i am obsessed with all things microbe. i love to learn about polio, plague, influenza, ebola. how it gets into the body and what it does. i also have a deeper respect for God after taking a biology class.
2. i am neat and slobby at the same time. i let things go for a few days until i can't take it anymore, then i do a clean sweep. some days, i wish i could just throw everything away and start over. which sucks because...
3. i am a shopaholic. when i don't shop, i get crabby. and even when i don't need anything, i still go to places like marshall's and tjmaxx and look around. the good part is when i don't really need anything, i usually don't buy anything.
4. i love organizing things. anything. cds, dvd, papers, books, lives. if there can be an order to it, i will find it and put it in its place. when i was getting laid off from HL, i completely reorganized the spare book room because i had nothing else to do. it kills me right now that all of my books on the shelf out of order. someday when i have some spare time, i'll fix that.
5. i bite my nails/fingers all the time. i think it's a throw-over from my thumb-sucking days. i do it when i'm bored and/or nervous
6. i hate modern technology. i now hate digital cordless phones, cell phones, blackberries, anything that keeps everyone in touch all the time. i think, as a society, we're losing touch with ourselves trying to be in touch with everyone else. but this theory has nothing to do with the latest technology creep-out of mine: the car that can parallel park itself. c'mon, people. (but i'm obessed with IM and TM. go figure)
7. i make fun of people ALL THE TIME. i have animosity towards almost everyone, especially people i pass by on the street. and i make the most horrible comments in my head, like, "yeah, fatty, you need that mcdonalds" or "nice outfit, honey. were the lights on when you dressed?" i have no faith in humanity.
8. i abhore things that discriminate painfully between boys and girls. i HATE that women get paid less than men. i HATE that only women can have babies and, therefore, ruin their lives, while the guys can just leave and not look back, sans stretch marks. i HATE it when i'm overly-emotional about something, because that makes me feel like a girl. i hate that girls get cute little flowers and fuzzy bunnies and boys get dirt and dumptrucks. i hate that boys are taught not to cry and girls are taught to be accomodating. fuck. all. that.
9. i can't just do one thing at a time. when i'm watching tv, i have to be on the computer or cross-stitching or reading or organizing. at work, i'm not happy unless i have 10 things going on at once... that are all due tomorrow. it's probably adult ADD, but it sure comes in handy when i'm in a pinch for time.
