let me clarify for the audience. as was told to me many times before Saturday, this is a BRIDAL shower. when in the works, the idea of men was proposed but that was poo-pooed by scott as "boring." so we invited women only and had a sewing circle-like gathering. so when i say "i received" a gift, i literally did receive it. but when using the word "my," that's me being selfish. so, i had the shower, but the gifts that were given to me are to be used by both Scott and I.
