what the crapping crap?

it's april 11. we're 3 weeks into spring. and this is what the crap is going on outside:

WTF? and before you say, "welcome to chicago spring," think about this: this is the longest cold snap we've had at this time in a looooong time. typical spring weather might be 60, the next it might be 40 or 30 with flurries. but then, maybe a few days later, it'll back into the 50s again. we've been below 45 since april 1. that is crap. all the trees were starting to bud. the flowers were starting to bloom. now they're all dead. like it's not depressing enough to live around here without seeing murdered spring everywhere. and what's going to happen to all those flowers? will we see any spring blooms now?
