the red eye
is nothing but birdcage-liner fluff, but i read it on the train because it's better than staring at the other dead-eyed passengers. anway, i saw an article in there about how blogging is tapering off and i thought, "oh no! they've seen it's been a week since i've posted and i've been such a slacker!" but then i realized that no one really reads my blog anymore, especially since i've gotten engaged and have zero time to blog, even though i have tons to complain about. so here i am.
the wedding plans are coming along. i got my dress on sunday, before kristin's jewelry party (at which i spent nothing. yay, me!). then, on monday, i went to the tailor across the street from my starbucks to get it altered. it turns out that i just need it hemmed. rock on. i thought, what a racket, that they make you spend $600 for a damn elaborate piece of cloth and then they make you pay more for alterations. well, wedding dress industry, i don't have to get anything altered except about 1" at the bottom. so take that!
but the funniest part was that my SB coworkers could see me in the dress from across the street and one of them came running over to take a pic with her cell phone. it was really very cute.
oh, and i've forgotten to tell you the most important news... i'm no longer working there.
yup. i gave my two weeks the weekend of the 7th, and i have this coming weekend off, so last saturday was my last day (i'll blog about that fiasco later). anyway, it got to be too much to think ahead to take time off, so i finally just threw in the bar towel. i told them i'll be back after the wedding (and i will). my damn class will be over, i won't need every spare moment to look for the perfect necklace for my damn dress... you get the picture.
and other very cool news... my bridal shower is this saturday. i'd say "our wedding shower," but scoot wanted nothing to do with it, so we kicked him the hell out of it entirely. of course, he'll get to use the gifts i get on saturday, but only if he begs. ;) naw, i couldn't imagine him with a bunch of girls, giggling and talking about wedding plans. well, there probably won't be much giggling with my aunt and my mom and amy and shannon there, but it's still a bunch of chicks and just scott. so i let him bow out... gracefully.
other than that, the wedding is coming along like a freight train. so all of you out there who haven't returned your RSVPs, GET ON IT, MAN! i'm dying to know who will deem me worthy of their attendance. it's a brunch with a one hour open bar, so i hope that won't dissuade you on coming. french toast as far as the eye can see. i can't wait! i think we should all take bets on how long it'll take before i get syrup on my dress. any takers?

(But if no one else is, you can just switch to emailing me entries.)
