hair and flowers
two things i can check off my list: hair and flowers.
after work, i went to the dominick's on western and roscoe to see what they could offer me in the way of flowers. there wasn't anyone at the flower counter, so i had someone paged. when i said i was there to talk about wedding flowers, she said, "oh. well, then you'll have to come back tomorrow, when the manager is here. she just left 5 minutes ago." of course she did. and what time will be here tomorrow? "oh, until 3:30 or 4." great, so there's no way i can get to that store to talk to her before she leaves for the day. screw that.
so, on a lark, i went to jewel by my house. there were actual people standing behind the flower counter... two people! so i asked if i could talk to them about wedding flowers. i could! after chatting with them about what i wanted, i placed an order for my bouquet, the bridesmaid's bouquets, all of the boutinnieres and coursages. and i saved a ton. of. money. i walked out of there laughing, i was so thrilled. for the price of ONE BOUQUET at LaSalle Flowers i could have purchased all three bridesmaid's bouquets at jewel. and then had money left over. jewel rocks. and they were totally nice, chatting with me and all that. they actually had personalities, which no one at any other place had.
then, after that, i went to my hair trial. i met the chick who's going to drive up to the resort and do my hair and kristin's hair and my sister's hair. she's totally cool. and i finished my veil. (it doesn't hang perfectly, but what do you want with a hand-made veil?) it turns out that, since someone is going to be doing my hair, i'm going to wear it in curls. i was originally going to wear it straight and sleek, but i have it like that everyday. so i'm sitting here in my PJs, typing, with a full head of lucious curls. it's very odd. i'll see what they look like tomorrow. maybe i'll wear them to work and freak everyone out.
so, things are wrapping up nicely. we have to finish the favors and i have to have scott proofread the programs and then i'll print those out and we'll fold them. and then that's it. i think...? ;)
