CTA holiday train
so, i'm innocently waiting for my train home at the Lake subway platform. i was reading my book when unbeknownst to me, a garishly lit, singing red line train approaches. there is blaring christmas music coming out of the loud speakers and it was all decked out in lights and garland. the poles by the door are wrapped in candy cane paper. i thought, "wow, it must have taken them a long to decorate this for the holidays." but then i realized that they probably use that particular train just for this time of year. and sure enough, i typed in the train number and this came up:
this is the exact train i was on.
did i mention that there were CTA-sponsored elves on each train, handing out mini candy canes? yeah. it was a little unnerving, especially after all of the holiday crap that's been shoved down our throat lately.
for a better view of the side of the train:
CTA, have you no pride?
