... and we're back!

it's been a while, hasn't it? and with the wedding looming over the last time i posted, i had no time to update you all with the fun-packed days of pre-wedding splendor.

june 1
both of us had the day off to run around like ninnies, and that's what we did. scott's parents came in thursday night and we had dinner with them. friday, i went shopping with scott's mom at water tower and scott went to pick up the tuxes with his dad. he had the fun of driving all over chicago, trying to gather all 5 of the tuxes from two different stores during lunch hour in the loop. later that day, i was supposed to meet up with my sister to get my nails done and get a massage. but she was running late, so i got to listen to my cell phone buzzing all the while i was supposed to be relaxing while being rubbed down. then i got a kind of crappy french manicure that chipped by the next day. hurrah. we went out to dinner again at Semiramis in albany park. it was awesome.

june 2
we get up around 7:30, pack up the rest of our stuff and head up to the resort early. scott's parents took one of the huge speakers and the tuxes (this decided at 10pm the previous night, when i was out of my head with exhaustion). but it made for better car packing. we got up to the reosrt by 11. because scott's brother and sister-in-law weren't able to get into their room early, we didn't think we'd have a chance of getting our room 4 hours early. but they came through for both of us, me getting the suite for us chicks and him getting the room that he would share with rudy. so we hung around with random family members until the rehearsal. the rehearsal was like herding cats and i got the unpleasantness of seeing my sister and my dad together for the first time since i left for college.

june 3
the wedding! it was a blur, but somewhere in there, we got legally married. we have the signed marriage license to prove it. scott's dad got some great pictures. they aren't in order, thanks to kodak, but they're totally great. we'll be getting our photographer's, David Sampson, photos in a few weeks.

the best part of the day was when the storm came in. we were out on the beach, taking some more photos when the rain drops came at us like little bombs. we hauled ass back to the resort, but not before i snuck a peek up at the banquet room, to see everyone pressed up against the glass wall, laughing and clapping and taking pictures. it was so funny!

june 4
a day off. we took the speakers back, which took up most of my backseat. annette took back the tuxes and a lot of other crap (thank you, annette! we love you!) we got back home in time to pack and relax.

the first day of our honeymoon. more on that later!
