a few thoughts on a tuesday
1. i have tennis elbow. i haven't played tennis in about 4 years. i guess it's coming from lifting weights with a personal trainer (that's when it really started to hurt) and lifting gallons of milk at starbucks. oh, and the horribly un-ergonomic set up of my 1950s office equipment. yesterday, i thought my elbow was going to squirt out of my arm, it hurt so bad. today i came prepared with my arm wrap and my little cold pouches that kristin was so kind to give me when i got my wisdom teeth pulled out. they're really very handy.
2. chemistry is taking up a lot more time than i thought. it's not bad enough that they cram 8 hours of class into 2 days a week, but i have to study, read the chapters and do 25 problems of homework online. this i'm not used to. for bio, we had to write some papers, maybe do a presentation, and listening to the instructor was enough for me to get the concepts. in chem, if i don't apply the equations to the concepts right away, bye-bye knowledge. i didn't do very well on the last exam. i got all of the hard computation questions right, but i missed a lot of the stupid multiple choice questions. bah. and now we have another exam next wednesday. sigh.
3. it's now dark when i wake up in the morning. as a matter of fact, it's 7:13am and it's dark right now. and when daylight savings hits, it's going to be worse at night.
4. with the dark comes cold. this past weekend it was 75-80 degrees again. then, yesterday, BAM! didn't get above 55. i was woefully underdressed but i survived. today, i broke out the light winter coat. and a scarf. i was sweating by the time i got to my office, but i'd rather be warm than freezing. and the one good thing about coats... you always have a pocket to keep your keys in.
i think that's it. i'm sure there's more but it's too early to think too hard. i brought my chem homework to do, but forgot my calculator and my notebook. duh.
