lessons learned?
no, probably not. when you make the boss mad, it is up to her discretion to can your ass, and lo and behold, that's what she did. i guess it's one thing to voice an opinion on your blog, it's another to disparage her decisions. should i have been given a second chance? in a larger company, probably. if the boss wasn't so sensitive, maybe. but i said what i said and did what i did and there's no going back. looking back on it, i really have no idea why i even did it. i have been very careful about what i say on social media sites and to whom i say certain things to... and then i go and do that ridiculous thing. subconsciously i think i wanted it all to end. the place was going to give me an ulcer before too long and i had had my husband's blessing to quit on my birthday, which was about a month away. i was fanatically looking for another full-time job, but in the meantime, i had planned on picking up hours at starbucks to make some money in the interim. that job wasn't worth the stress.
to redeem myself, however, i showed the inflamed post to a fellow photographer to see him reaction. wow, he said. there's no need for that. yeah, that's what i thought.
anyway, it's been two days and i much happier. it's nice to be home during the daylight hours. i worked at starbucks today and it was great. my boss there rules, as does everyone else i work with. i enjoy talking to people and being nice and funny and goofy. we joke around and we laugh with the customers and no one is phony and just pasting on a smile because they have it. nothing is fake at my starbucks and that's what i missed.
and now i am home, watching it snow. watching the cat watching it snow. he's totally fascinated by it. his head can't swivel enough at every. damn. flake. he's so f*cking cute. the other cat is sitting in the hubby's chair like an old man, licking his belly. lol. it's the little things in life.
here's hoping i can make a go at whatever is in store for me. i really don't want to go back to another job like the one i just left. please, God. let me be happy.
